Home Visit Requests

Lack of transport is not a sufficient reason to request a home visit. We would ask you to attend the surgery if at all possible.

If a patient is housebound they may be visited at the doctor’s discretion.

Patients/ Nursing homes are requested to telephone surgery, before 11.00am if a visit is required that day.

Emergency visits only will be arranged after that time.  The Duty Doctor will triage the home visit request and make the necessary arrangements if needed.

Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls

If you are registered with us and are outside the practice boundary, you will not be eligible for any home visits from our doctors

If a patient is housebound or too ill to leave the home they may request for a home visit at the doctor’s discretion. Housebound patients are advised if home visit is needed then they will need to ring 01922 475015 before 11:00am if visit is needed that very same day. The duty doctor or a nurse will phone you prior to the visit, as it may be that your problem can be dealt with over the telephone, or you may need hospital attendance for your problem.

Any emergency visit request will be forwarded for the duty doctor for him/her to triage and to make necessary arrangements..

Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to the home visit requests.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please note that the time that is allocated for one home visit several patients can be seen in that time in the practice and there are better means and facilities to treating patients at the surgery.
